About Saifu
Effective 2026-10-05.
Saifu explains money in India in plain words: credit cards, credit scores, loans, EPF, NPS, income tax and savings rates. It started as an app that tells you which of your credit cards to use at checkout, and the website grew around it.
Who makes it
Saifu is made by Chandan Kumar Dash under Optional Labs. Chandan is a software engineer and product manager, not a financial adviser. Write to hello@saifu.in.
Where the figures come from
- Official sources first: RBI, EPFO, PFRDA, the Income Tax Department, PIB, NPCI and each bank's own pages and notices.
- News reports only to find what an official source published, or when no official text is available, and the page says so.
- Every guide and data page lists its sources and the date it was last checked.
How it is kept current
Rule changes are checked every morning. FD rates are rechecked weekly, and repo, small savings rates and bank holidays each quarter. Changes are reviewed before they go live.
How AI is used
Research, first drafts and the Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil and Bengali translations are prepared with AI tools, mainly Claude by Anthropic, and checked before publishing. Translations have not all been read by native speakers yet; if a sentence reads wrong, tell us.
What Saifu is not
Saifu is information and education, not financial advice. It is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, and not a bank, NBFC, card issuer or insurer. See the disclaimer.
How Saifu earns
Some card links are affiliate links. They are labelled and never change how cards are ranked. How we earn.
Mistakes and complaints
Every page has a link to report a mistake, and we fix confirmed errors quickly. For complaints, see Grievances.
