Bank of India raised FD rates for 1 to 3 years from 2 November 2026 and launched a 500-day Star Akshay FD paying 6.85% to 7.5%. See the new rates.

Bank of India (BoI) has raised the interest on some fixed deposits and launched a special 500-day deposit scheme. The new rates apply from 2 November 2026. The details below were reported on 2 November 2026 by PTI and Mint, citing a statement from the bank. We could not read the rate page on the bank's own site, so check the rate for your tenure with the bank before you book.

The rise comes after RBI raised the repo rate to 5.5% on 7 October 2026. You can read what that means for loans and deposits in our repo rate guide.

Non-callable deposits

Bank of India also pays 0.15 percentage points extra on non-callable FDs of 1 year to below 3 years. A non-callable FD does not allow you to withdraw before maturity. A callable FD does, usually with a penalty.

Star Akshay FD: 500 days

| Customer | Rate a year | | --- | --- | | General customers | 6.85% | | Senior citizens | 7.35% | | Super senior citizens | 7.50% |

Mint reported that super senior citizens are those aged 80 years and above. The tenure is fixed at 500 days.

What you can do

Compare the 500-day rate with the 1 to 3 year rate before you choose, because the special scheme pays more than the standard rate for a similar period. Check whether the deposit is callable, since you may need the money earlier. FD interest is taxable as per your slab, and banks deduct TDS above the limits in force. See how other banks compare in our FD rates table.
